What can a small church with five acres of pristine property do to benefit their community?
This is what the Fork Seventh day Adventist church group pondered with their new Pastor Jay Coon in 2021. After much prayer and discussion, the members decided to set aside 2 acres for a special Park for Forks community residents and visitors. Many parents and a few travelers coming through Forks often need a safer place to relax and play with their kids. Creation Park, a quiet picturesque environment, provides that alternative. Starting in May of ’21 with 5k contributed and a $10k grant, volunteers first erected an elk fence around the two-acres and planted a ½ acre orchard. The Orchard features 24 fruit trees, 80 blueberry & 10 loganberry bushes. The next year a Foundation approved a $20k grant for adding a functional restroom, a beautiful foot bridge over a small stream, and children’s play equipment. Creation Park has several handmade picnic tables and commercial grade grills and firepits. The Northwest shelter with picnic tables adds refuge from rain or hot sun. Forks Seventh-day Adventist people wish those who join this private park a happy experience in the goodness of the Creator of all nature as they make memories here with their families.
